Join us for a Planning Commission Study Session on Jan.26!

On January 26, 2026, the City of Costa Mesa will hold a Study Session at the regularly scheduled Planning Commission meeting to discuss the approach to rezoning Housing Element sites in line with the SB 131 exemption from CEQA, a draft updated Zoning Map, and draft amendments to the Costa Mesa Municipal Code pertaining to definitions, planning applications, land use, residential parking, motel conversions, and emergency shelters. The Study Session will also include a draft amendment to the North Costa Mesa Specific Plan related to Housing Element sites. The draft amendments will be made available online 72 hours prior to the meeting.
